I make woodblock prints inspired by the big, dramatic country of Western Colorado.

The prints start with ink drawings made in the field which are later transferred to the woodblock, then carved, and printed in my studio.

I hand print with a simple press using oil-based ink on washi paper of 25 to 50 prints in an edition. This all sounds tedious, but it’s also really fun, a quality I hope comes through in the prints.

I have a BS in studio art (1973) and an MA in graphic design and printmaking (1978) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and have been a graphic designer, printmaker, and have taught printmaking in Aspen since 1979.
